The song, titled ‘Panun Kashmir’ (our Kashmir), has touched the hearts of people as it narrates the pain of separation of mothers who have lost their children during the turmoil in the Valley. The song is shot at several picturesque locations of Kashmir.

“I have been singing for 15 years but this is my first Kashmiri song. I decided to release ‘Panun Kashmir’ because of my love for the language. Moreover, I used to receive a lot of support from my friends whenever I would sing in Kashmiri,” the 23-year-old told The Tribune.

Hailing from Pulwama district’s Tral area, Gurdeep said he was presently practising physiotherapy in Gurugram. — TNS
