Site for tenant verification ‘amended’

A day after The Tribune exposed the faux pas by the Community Policing Resource Centre or the Police Saanjh Kendra on its site for tenant verification, the occupation category was amended. Options like smuggler, hired killer, drug trafficker, bootlegger, gambler, prostitute and pimp — which were in the occupation category for tenant verification on www.ppsaanjh.in till Tuesday night — were removed on Wednesday.

State ADGP, Community Policing, Ishwar Singh claimed these were not removed by the police portal but got automatically removed. He said the same had not been put up by the saanjh team.

He said due to the integration of the Police Saanjh Kendra portal with the Crime and Criminal Tracking Networks and Systems portal, these options were “automatically showing up” during the tenant verification process. — TNS
