In less than two weeks, one more government school mistress was targeted by a masked biker within 100-m area of city police station here on Tuesday.
Priya Taneja, daughter-in-law of a retired officer, who serves as mistress at a government school at Hastekalan village, alighted from a van at 3.10 pm near the police station. As she walked towards her Anand Nagari residence, a masked biker reportedly snatched her purse and also hit a scooter while fleeing.
The incident was recorded in two CCTV cameras. ASI Sukhwinder Singh inspected the site and examined the CCTV footages. Priya claimed that the purse carried an iPhone, Rs 7,000 and some important documents.
Earlier, a biker had targeted Gurwinder Kaur who teaches at Kerakhera village government school a few days ago. As she resisted the snatching bid, the biker had dragged her for some distance and injured her. A case had been registered but no arrest has been made so far.
Police officials said they were investigating the cases and would arrest the accused soon.
