The officials of the Vigilance Bureau on Friday nabbed a Sub-Inspector, Om Parkash, while allegedly accepting a bribe of Rs 10,000.
According to information, Om Parkash, who was posted in the CIA, had allegedly demanded Rs 15,000 from Pala Singh of Taranwali village for returning his motorcycle which the police team had reportedly confiscated during a raid at Pala’s house a few days ago.
Pala said the police party led by SI Om Parkash had raided his house and took his motorcycle with him. “When I asked him to return the bike, he demanded Rs 15,000 which was ultimately settled to Rs 10,000,” Pala said.
Later, he informed the Vigilance Bureau about the matter which laid the trap. When Pala handed over the bribe money to the SI near the Baba Shershah Wali Chowk on Friday, the VB team nabbed him red-handedly. Later, during the search of his vehicle, the team also recovered heroin from the same regarding which a separate case under the NDPS Act has been registered. Makhan Singh, DSP (Vigilance), confirmed the development.
