Sukhbir agitated over CBI closure report: Randhawa

Cabinet minister Sukhjinder Singh Randhawa and MLAs have lashed out at SAD chief Sukhbir Singh Badal for “shedding crocodile tears” over the issue of CBI filing a closure report in connection with the Bargari sacrilege case against the three dera followers in the aftermath of the killing of dera follower Mohinder Pal Bittu.

The Congress leaders —Randhawa, Kushaldeep Singh Kikki Dhillon, Amrinder Singh Raja Warring, Harpartap Singh Ajnala, Fatehjung Singh Bajwa, Kulbir Singh Zira and Barindermeet Singh Pahra — said, “If Badal is feeling so agitated over the closure report by the CBI then he should immediately ask Harsimrat Kaur to resign from the Union Cabinet as the CBI falls under the purview of the Centre.”

Randhawa said the matter was that the CBI was protecting Badals who were the main conspirators in the case. They hatched a conspiracy to seek votes of Premis. —TNS

SAD calls meeting

The Shiromani Akali Dal (SAD) has convened a meeting of the core committee of the party on Monday at party head office here. The meeting will be presided over by SAD chief Sukhbir Singh Badal. Party spokesman 

Dr Daljit Singh Cheema said they would discuss the issue of closure report of the CBI

in the sacrilege cases. The party has already expressed its displeasure over this action of the CBI and would further resolve how to take up this case to the logical conclusion, he added.
