Abohar, January 7
A security alert has been sounded in Abohar Military Station in the wake of intelligence reports of terrorists from J&K moving towards Punjab.
The perimeter of the station has been strengthened and entrance points made more secure. This is part of an Army effort to strengthen all military garrisons against a likely terrorist attack, official sources say.
Officials say the threat is likely to increase towards the Army Day (January 15) and Republic Day (January 26).
The Army has increased patrolling inside and outside the military station and surveillance has been enhanced with high technology robust surveillance equipment, including hand-held thermal imagers and all-weather day and night vision devices. — OC
