Rajasthan has become the first state in the country to initiate the online Building Plan Approval System’ (BPAS) in all districts. The Minister for Urban Development & Housing (UDH) and Local Self Government (LSG), Rajpal Singh Shekhawat approved online the building plans of two commercial projects in Jaipur earlier this week. These projects are located at Bhiwadi and Udaipur. The BPAS was initiated by the Rajasthan Government on June 6.
Apart from fast clearance of projects, there will be transparency and simplification in the system. Since there is no manual intervention of any kind it will help in doing away with any kind of malpractices. Now within maximum 30 days the building plan will be cleared online. A fast track approval will also be in place by August 1, the Minister informed.
The BPAS has been hosted on Single Sign on the website of State Government https://sso.rajasthan.gov.in under implementation of ‘Business Reform Action Plan 2015’ of Ease of Doing Business (EODB) by the Department of Industrial Policy & Promotion (DIPP). This benefit can also be availed of in the ongoing Single Window Clearance System (http://swcs.rajasthan.gov.in/).
An investor now just has to register on the website and has to submit the requisite documents. There is a single ID, a personal dashboard for accessing information and status of the online applications by the applicant.
The BPAS covers end-to-end solutions for the applicant by way of providing online submission, processing, site inspection, release of building plan approval as well as payment of the fee. — TNS
