Q.You sometimes suggest to keep the head in south direction while sleeping. Is there some scientific expalnation for this as they say Vaastu is a science? — Subhash Sagar

A.Every principle in Vaastu Shastra is based on scientific norms. The magnetic field of the Earth plays an important role while formulating Vaastu suggestions, which can significantly influence human life. According to Vaastu norms, one should never keep one’s head towards the north while sleeping as it obstructs the circulatory system causing irregular sleep, tension, paranoia and other mental problems. The magnetic fields of the same poles repel each other while the opposite attracts each other, therefore a person should keep the head towards the south or east.

This will put your body in consonance with Nature. The human body consists of 70 per cent blood and blood has iron particles which are controlled by the magnetic field. When we sleep with our head Southwards, the blood circulation is straight. But when we sleep in the reverse position , it circulates in opposite direction in our body and causes blood disorders, headaches, blood pressure or some complications with regard to blood circulation. Just compare when you travel to Delhi in Shatabdi Train with your back towards Delhi (the direction in which the train is moving), you feel uncomfortable throughout the journey and when you alight on the platform you feel tired. This is not the case when you are facing the direction in which the train is moving.

Is the underground water tank in the right direction?

Q.We have an underground water tank in southwest direction in our home. What can we do for washroom and kitchen if these have some Vaastu defects ? — usha dixit

A.Just paint red colour on top of the tank.

In washroom keep a pyramid in the southwest corner.
Keep toilet door closed always.
Use yellow colour to paint kitchen.
Use minimum quantity of water in kitchen if there is a Vaastu dosha there.
Raise the level of floor, it should be blocked.
