SAD sarpanch among eight booked for clash

A SAD sarpanch of nearby Thathi village, his son and seven others have been booked in connection with a clash that took place in the village over the village common room three days ago.
The police said besides sarpanch Surinder Singh Gandhi and his son Kanwarpal Singh, the other accused have been nominated as Manpreet Singh Mannu, Karanbir Singh, Gaurav, Bau, Navpreet Singh, Sandeep Singh and Lovepreet Singh of the same village.
They have been booked under Sections 323, 324, 506, 148 and 149 of the IPC.
Sajan Singh of the same village and his friend Jagroop Singh were injured in the clash. Sajan told the police that the sarpanch and the other accused attacked him when he was standing in the village ground. He added that they accused wanted the keys of the common room of the village panchayat.
They allegedly injured his friend Jagroop Singh too when he came to his rescue. The sarpanch was also injured in the incident.
