It was a miraculous escape for 24 schoolchildren when their bus overturned at Majri Jattan village near here today. There was no casualty barring bruises to a few children.
The incident took place when a bus of Saint Carmel School was on the way to pick students from Majri Jattan village to Phoolpur Garewal village when it overturned into the paddy fields. The students in the bus were taken out after breaking the windscreen of the vehicle.
Bus driver Nirmal Singh said when he tried to give way to a scooter coming from the opposite side the sand on the edge of the narrow road caved in leading to the mishap. The parents of the students reached the spot and took their wards home. — TNS
