Former Chief Minister Bhupinder Singh Hooda today started his Jan Sampark Abhiyan from Kandela village here. He said he would visit every nook and corner of the state to meet dissatisfied residents of the state and press the state BJP government to fulfil its election promises.
“With your support, I announce my ‘abhiyan’ from here. I will visit all villages of the state and raise the issues of common man, who have started feeling neglected in the first six months of the BJP in the state and the Centre,” said Hooda.
Dispelling all misinformation that it was Hooda’s personal function, the launch of the ‘abhiyan’ saw the presence of 14 MLAs, except Kiran Choudhry, MPs Deepender Hooda and Shadi Lal Batra (Rajya Sabha) and over 100 former MLAs, former MPs, former ministers and former chief parliamentary secretaries.
“The state BJP government is threatening me to put me behind bars, but I want to announce that I have done nothing wrong and I am not scared of going to the prison. I never have and never will bow before anyone. If the BJP has any proof of my wrongdoing, it must prove it and take action against me,” said Hooda.
To put a stamp of approval of the All-India Congress Committee (AICC) on the function, AICC general secretary and in charge of Haryana affairs Shakeel Ahmed and AICC media in charge Randeep Surjewala also attended the function and announced full support to Hooda. “I and all AICC leaders offer our support to Hooda, who has always fought for the rights of the poor. We hope the struggle against the failure of the BJP government started by Hooda from Kandela today spreads across the country. The party is by his side in his efforts for the welfare of common man of the state,” said Ahmed.
Surjewala alleged the BJP governments in the state and the Centre had failed to fulfil even a single promise they made in their election manifestos.
