Rajinder Sharma has once again brought laurels not only to the state but to the district as well as he has been selected as the manager of the Indian badminton team for the World Senior Badminton Championships Katowice 2019.
Sharma, who hails from Bhareri village of Bhoranj Subdivision here, was the badminton team manager for the championships held in Singapore, Malaysia, Thailand and Australia.
Sharma was also the general secretary of the Himachal Pradesh Badminton Association and joint secretary of the Badminton Association of India.
The BWF World Senior Badminton Championships Katowice 2019 will begin on August 4 at Spodek in Katowice, Poland.
Sharma said he was thankful to Dr Himanta Biswa Sarma, president, Badminton Association of India, who gave him the responsibility. He said over 200 players between the age group of 35 and 70 years would participate in both men’s and women’s category.
