Shradh Paksha concludes

The fortnight-long Shradh Paksha concluded with offerings made to forefathers on Amavasya today. Tributes and rituals were offered to forefathers whose dates of death is not known.
Also, those who missed performing Shradh rituals did so today to ensure peace to the departed souls of their forefathers, relatives and near ones.
Teerth purohits say the conclusion of Shradh is known as Sarvpitra Amavasya or Mahalaya Visarjan.
People started arriving at the revered shrine of Narayani Shilla, Devpura, Kushawrat Ghat and other Ganga ghats right from early morning hours. Havan, yajna and other rituals were performed to pray for the salvation of the departed souls. At Brahamkund, Har-ki-Pauri, devotees took dip in the holy Ganga and performed rituals.
