SARE Homes curbs its carbon trail

FDI funded developer SARE Homes, which is a part of London-based asset management firm Duet Group has proactively addressed critical issues of carbon emissions and other greenhouse gases arising as a result of construction activities in the real estate sector. The company in association with DNV (Det Norske Veritas), an internationally reputed certifying body, has verified its carbon footprint for financial years 2013 (April 2012 to March 2013) and 2014 (April 2013 to March 2014) in accordance with ISO 14064: Part 1 2006. 

Using a methodology based on the Greenhouse Gas (GHG) Protocol, DNV had verified a total of 1263.58 metric tons of CO2 equivalent emissions basis data collected and compiled by SARE Homes across eight operational sites and offices. The agreed scope of work comprised of:

SARE Group has offset its  organisational emissions by procuring VCS (Verified Carbon Standard) certified carbon offsets for unavoidable emissions. “The company is committed to reduce the emissions year on year and is investing in solar and wind power renewable projects across India”, said David Walker, Managing Director, SARE Homes. Vineet Relia, Managing Director, SARE Homes, said “By identifying annual emissions, we are better positioned to initiate measures that reduce carbon footprint, boost the green-building quotient and differentiate it from traditional developers with a heavier carbon trail. What we currently need is access to finance and the right technology to combat climate change.”

DHFL launches national influencer outreach programme

India’s second largest housing finance company in the private sector, Dewan Housing Finance Corporation Limited, Mumbai (DHFL) has launched a national influencer outreach programme to reach out to the tech-savvy younger generation in the age group of 18-25 years. This segment turns out to be the main influencer group for the prospective home loan customers in the LMI segment. The company has launched two infomercials as part of the initiative to educate customers regarding the intricacies of home loans and would be launching a new video every month to update the customer on various home loan queries. 

The company will also conduct workshops through its large network in the Tier II and Tier III locations.  Speaking on the initiative, Harshil Mehta, CEO, DHFL said, “The launch of our national influencer outreach initiative is a strategic move towards imparting knowledge to prospective home buyers, and complements the larger objective of the Indian Government of achieving housing for all by 2022.”

Amrapali launches “Adarsh Awas Yojna”

The Amrapali Group recently announced ‘Amrapali Adarsh Awas Yojna’ for serving/ retired government employees. 

According to a company spokesperson the Adarsh Awaas Yojna is a part of 100-acre township in Greater Noida (West) wherein approximately 5,000 flats of 975 to 1300 sq. ft will be constructed. These 2-3 BHK flats will be priced at Rs 22 lakh onwards.  — Agencies
