Advani wins Asian Snooker Tour title

Nineteen-time world champion Pankaj Advani on Wednesday sent out a strong message before the upcoming World Championships by winning the second leg of the Asian Snooker Tour in Jinan, China.  Advani delivered a power-packed performance to outclass China’s Ju Reti 6-1 in the final and become the first Indian to win an Asian Snooker Tour event.

ISL: Bengaluru rally to beat ATK 2-1  

Bengaluru FC came from behind to beat ATK 2-1 and continue their unbeaten run in the Indian Super League (ISL) season here on Wednesday. A first-ever ISL goal for 18-year-old Komal Thatal (15th) had put ATK ahead but strikes on either side of the half-time break from Miku (45+3’) and Erik Paartalu (47th) ensured Bengaluru’s win.

Karman, Pranjala make first round exits     

India No. 2 Karman Thandi and No. 3 Pranjala Yadlapalli made contrasting first round exits from the L&T Mumbai Open being played at the Cricket Club of India here on Wednesday. Karman made a tame exit, losing 2-6 4-6 to top-seeded Chinese Saisai Zheng, while Pranjala lost 6-3 5-7 1-6 to Thailand’s Luksika Kumkhum. — Agencies
