New Delhi, SEPTEMBER 5
The BCCI today announced a two-week tour of Bangladesh A team starting on September 16. The Bangaldesh A cricket team would tour India starting on September 16. The tour will feature three limited-overs (List A) matches and a three-day game against India A in Bengaluru.
Some senior India players might play a match or two against Bangladesh A in order to get into the groove before the series against South Africa, which starts on October 2. India play three T20Is, five ODIs and four Tests against South Africa. There are reports that the Indian senior team will undergo a a short fitness and conditioning camp in Bengaluru. The three limited-overs matches against Bangladesh A are slated on September 16, 18 and 20. It would be useful for some India players to play in these matches, like Test skipper Virat Kohli played for India A against Australia A before the tour of Sri Lanka. Suresh Raina, Ambati Rayudu and Kohli might find it useful to prepare themselves for the shorter format. MS Dhoni has also been out of match-practice and might just find it ideal to get a hit in a match situation. — PTI
