New Delhi, April 27
India A and the U-19 team coach Rahul Dravid will need to apply for the post of head coach at the National Cricket Academy after BCCI decided to invite fresh applications.
BCCI will be inviting applications for the newly-created position of head coach and Dravid, who is already in charge of India A and India U-19, is the front-runner for the job. India head coach Ravi Shastri too will have to re-apply for his job once his tenure ends after the World Cup in July. Earlier this year, former India opener Vikram Rathour’s direct appointment as the batting coach of India A and U-19 team was stalled after his conflict of interest case was brought to the notice of the CoA.
BCCI Ombudsman to review Raman’s appointment
New Delhi: The appointment of the women’s team head coach WV Raman in controversial circumstances will be reviewed by BCCI Ombudsman and Ethics Officer DK Jain, the Committee of Administrators (CoA) decided in a meeting here.
Former India opener Raman was appointed in December following a selection process conducted by an ad-hoc panel comprising former India captain Kapil Dev, Anshuman Gaekwad and Shantha Rangaswamy.
However, the then two-member CoA comprising chairman Vinod Rai and Diana Edulji differed strongly on the selection process. Four months later, the matter has been referred to the Ombudsman. “We have referred the matter to the Ombudsman and it will be his call whether the appointment will need to be reviewed or not,” a BCCI official said. — PTI
