India Blue and India Green will lock horns in the last league match from August 29 with a spot in the title clash up for grabs.

Two Indians in quarters of youth boxing championships
Two Indian women boxers advanced to the quarterfinals of the World Youth Championships with comprehensive wins. Sakshi (57kg) and Jony (60kg) entered the last-8 stage after fetching unanimous victories. Sakshi defeated Hungary’s Viktoria Matesz, while Jony got the the better of New Zealand’s Pelea Fruean. However, Lalita went out of the tournament after being out-punched by Germany’s Alina Popp. There was disappointment in the men’s draw as well with S Barun Singh losing to Thailand’s Thitisan Panmod.

Watford beat Palace to maintain 100 percent record
Unfancied Watford continued their great start to the Premier League season with a third successive win when they beat visiting Crystal Palace 2-1. It is the first time they have begun with three wins out of three in the top tier of English football, keeping them right up among the early pacemakers. Everton defender Michael Keane will be out for up to four weeks after suffering a hairline fracture of the skull in Saturday’s 2-2 draw at Bournemouth.

Pavan edges out Harrington to seal Czech Masters title
Italy’s Andrea Pavan won his maiden European Tour title at the Czech Masters, closing with a 5-under 67 to seal a two-shot win over Padraig Harrington. Pavan shared the lead with Harrington after the third round at the Albatross Golf Resort near Prague, but fell behind as his Irish rival took a three-stroke lead at the turn to close in on a 16th Tour title. — Agencies
