Cricket captain Virat Kohli said: “I like it, contrast is really nice. It's a nice change, for one game it's fine. I don't think permanently we'll be heading in that direction, blue has always been our colour. We're very proud to wear it. Looking at occasion, it's a smart kit”.

The need for an alternative jersey arose after the International Cricket Council issued a guideline before the start of the World Cup, requiring teams to have two different uniforms for all its televised tournaments except hosts England.
“For televised ICC events all participating teams will be required to provide for two different coloured kits, except for the host country who has a preference in the choice of colour and may, if it chooses to do so, provide only one coloured kit to be worn in all matches throughout the event. In advance of the event the teams will be notified which coloured kit will be worn in each match,” the ICC had said in a release.
India, with 11 points from six games, are currently placed second in the table, need to win just one game of their remaining three matches to qualify for the semifinals.
England, on the other hand, need to win both their remaining games to advance to the knockout stage.
