Chandigarh, June 10
India are scheduled to play New Zealand in their next ICC World Cup encounter while eyes are already on the high-octane clash with Pakistan on June 16.
India have defeated Pakistan six times in the World Cup starting from the 1992 edition and then in 1996, 1999, 2003, 2011 and 2015.
Star Sports have again created the iconic “Mauka Mauka” ad which becomes popular whenever the two sides meet.
The ad shows the protagonist, wearing a Pakistani jersey, who cannot bear the pain of losing to India in ICC World Cups.
While the ad always created a buzz earlier, this time it seems it hasn’t got down too well with both set of supporters.
As the match coincides with Father’s Day on June 16, the ad seems to take a dig at Pakistan with a Father’s Day joke but many people were not amused and called out the ad for being “insensitive and distasteful”.
Below are reactions to the ad.
This , watch an ICC match jo dekh ke bas bol sakte hain, “baap re baap!” 😉

This is not creativity, this is badtameezi .. Yehi badtameezi inko lay bethi thi CT17 final main .. Ooper waalay ko gharoor pasand nahi .. Take it as a sport .. NAFRAT KA FAIDA KISI KO NAHI HOTA

Literally speaking this add is too low class. Not expected this from star sports. One need to understand its just a sport and anything can hapoen on a given day. .

Exactly. Thankfully a mature reply from an Indian. This is a national channel with a huge audience why r we spreading racism through it?

Sorry but this ad is in bad taste. Take sport as a sport only... Why stooping to such low level of thinking!!

Star Sports and all those liking this add really need to work on their humor. This add is terrible, unfunny and in a very poor taste.
It's really good to see our Indian friends calling out this campaign for what it is. A distasteful excuse for humor. The mauka mauka campaign was actually funny. This is just plain old crap.
