Chandigarh, February 20
Football Academy, Paldi, won the final of the school category in the ongoing 57th All-India Principal Harbhajan Singh Memorial Football Tournament, at SGGS College, Mahilpur, on Wednesday. In the final, the Paldi outfit stunned Football Academy, Baddon, by a solitary goal. Balwinder Singh scored the only goal of the match in the 43rd minute. The Paldi defenders played well to keep the opposition forwards at bay till the final whistle.
Meanwhile, in the first semifinal of the college category, Football Academy, Paldi, defeated Sikh National College, Banga, 2-0. Jaskaran Singh scored the first goal in the 16th minute, while Jaswinder Singh netted the second in the 88th minute. In the second semifinal, Lyallpur Khalsa College, Jalandhar, overpowered Sant Baba Bhag Singh University, Khiala, 1-0. Mohammad Asif Khan scored the winning goal in the 57th minute.
