Punjabi University shooters lifted the overall champions’ trophy in the All-India Inter-University Shooting Championship that concluded here today.
They scored a total of 104 points to grab the first spot whereas Delhi University (92) and Panjab University (60) were second and third, respectively.
In the men’s section, Punjabi University shooters garnered a total of 66 points to win the title wherein Delhi University was second with 43 points and Panjab University finished third with 37 points.
In the women’s section, Delhi University proved their mettle and won the title with a total of 49 points. They pushed the host shooters, who scored 38 points, to the second spot. Meanwhile, Panjab University managed to settle for the third spot with 23 points.
In men's air rifle individual competition, Milanpreet Singh of Panjab University won gold, Ekambir Singh of Punjabi University won silver and Ajaypal Singh of Panjab University won bronze.
In men's air pistol individual competition, Vishal Kumar of CCS University, Meerut, bagged gold, Akshay Jain of Punjabi University and Ajitesh Kaushal of Panjab University got silver and bronze, respectively.
In the women's air rifle individual competition, Juveta of Bangalore University got gold, Sony Chahar of Osmania University and Anjum Moudgill of Panjab University got silver and bronze, respectively.
In the women's air pistol individual competition, Shreya Guvade of Mumbai University got gold, Loveleen Kaur of Panjab University got silver and Kirandeep Kaur of GND University, Amritsar, got bronze.
