Sakshi stands up for MS, takes dig at owners

MS Dhoni has a tremendous ability to stay calm and composed under trying, sometimes even provoking, circumstances. His unceremonious removal as the Rising Pune Supergiant skipper and a verbal attack on his abilities by the team owner’s brother after Pune won their first match, are yet to elicit any response from him.
His wife, Sakshi Dhoni, however, seems to have had enough of it and has picked up the cudgels on behalf of her husband. On Wednesday, she posted a selfie wearing a Chennai Super Kings helmet on Instagram and captioned it as “Throwback”. She then wrote a post that made it clear that she was quite upset with the team owners for trying to malign Dhoni. The post said, “When a bird is alive, it eats ants. When the bird is dead, ants eat the bird. Time and circumstances can change at any time. Don’t devalue or hurt anyone in life. You may be powerful today, but remember, time is more powerful than you. One tree makes a million match sticks but only one match is needed to burn a million trees. So be good and do good.”
The latest provocation that apparently made her hit back came when Harsh Goenka, the brother of the franchisee owner Sanjiv Goenka, tried to belittle Dhoni after new skipper Steve Smith guided the team to a fine win over Mumbai Indians. Here’s what Goenka had posted on Twitter: “Smith proves who’s the king of the jungle. Overshadows Dhoni totally. Captain’s innings. Great move to appoint him as captain.”
The tweet had drawn angry response from Dhoni’s fans. And now with Sakshi jumping into the battle, the Pune owners could expect some more vitriolic responses coming their way.
