Vinesh wins 3rd successive gold in 53kg in Poland Open

Vinesh Phogat bagged her third consecutive gold in the women’s 53kg category after winning the Poland Open wrestling tournament in Warsaw. The 24-year-old from Haryana beat local wrestler Roksana 3-2 in the final. Vinesh had earlier beaten Sofia Mattson of Sweden, the Rio Olympics bronze medallist, in the quarterfinals. The top Indian woman wrestler had stood atop the podium also at Grand Prix of Spain and at the Yasar Dogu International at Istanbul last month.

India A beat Windies A by 7 wickets, win series
Openers Mayank Agarwal and Priyank Panchal struck half-centuries as India A registered a seven-wicket win over West Indies A in the second unofficial Test. Chasing 278, Agarwal made 81 off 134 balls while Panchal scored 68 off 121 deliveries to set up the win. Agarwal and Panchal shared 150 runs for the opening stand to set the platform for India A’s chase. India top Bolivia in COTIF Cup
The Indian women’s senior national team defeated Bolivia 3-1 in their second match of the COTIF Cup football tournament in Spain. A Ratanbala Devi brace and a Bala Devi goal led the Indian women to a comfortable win over the South American side. Bala Devi fired in a volley to restore parity. Ratanbala Devi then gave India the lead in the 36th minute when she headed home. Shortly after, Ratanbala got her second goal to extend India’s lead to 3-1.
