10 taekwondo players win gold medals

Players of Mussoorie Taekwondo Academy won 10 gold medals in the Doon Open Cup Taekwondo Championship held under the aegis of Indian School of Talent in Dehradun today.

Ten taekwondo players from Mussoorie won gold medals, three won silver medals while three players won bronze medals.

Of 10 gold medallists from Mussoorie, seven were from Saraswati Shishu Mandir. Abhishek Chauhan, Dilwar Negi, Karan, Vikas Chauhan, Kiran Thapa, Sunil Thapa and Mandeep Rawat won gold medals while Mandeep Rawat won a silver medal bringing laurels to the school and the town. Mussoorie Taekwando Academy coach Sahtrughan told mediapersons here that the team stood overall third in the competition. He said the medal winners would get an opportunity to take part in the Taekwondo Cup to be held on November 21 and 22.
