105 Infantry Battalion bags trophy

The Territorial Army’s (TA) 105 Infantry Battalion (Rajputana Rifles) of the Western Command TA Group has bagged the Best Infantry Battalion Trophy and the Sports Banner for the year 2016. The awards have been instituted this year.

The battalion’s commanding officer, Col HS Brar, received the awards from Maj Gen AK Sanyal of Western Command at a function organised at the TA Group Headquarters here today. Addressing TA officers and men, he exhorted them to do their best for their unit and the Nation at large.

The trophy and the banner have been instituted on certain competitive parameters in the field of training, administration and sports. 

All Infantry units of the Western Command TA Group, commanded by Brigadier Vinod Bhadu, participated in the competition. The Group has also fielded 24 TA personnel as part of the Western Command team in various disciplines.
