Aarav walks away with U-12 title

Aarav Joshi and Mankirat Singh claimed the combined U-12 and U-14 titles, respectively, on the concluding day of DAV Senior Secondary School and Ideal Tennis Academy Prize Money Combined Championship at the school in Sector 8 here.

In the final of the combined (U-12) category, Aarav Joshi defeated Karan Vir Saini in straight games 4-0, 4-1 while in the title run of the combined (U-14) category, Mankirat Singh edged past Dyumat Sachdewa 4-0, 4-1.

Earlier, in the U-12 semifinals, Aarav struggled hard to defeat Shivdev Singh 6-5 (6) while Karan Vir Saini defeated Shivansh Gupta 6-2. In the combined (U-14) final-four stage, Mankirat defeated Aditya Bansal 6-1 and Dyumat Sachdewa sent Sabal Jain packing 6-3.

The semifinals and quarterfinals were played on the best-of-seven-game format.
