AG Punjab, Haryana win their matches

The local teams of AG Punjab and AG Haryana registered victories in their respective matches of the North Zone Indian Audit & Accounts Department (IA&AD) Cricket Tournament here today.

In the first match, AG Haryana registered an 11-run win over AG Delhi during a match played at the Sector 16 cricket stadium. After electing to bat first, the winning team posted 257 runs at the loss of 9 wickets in 38 overs. Michael Vishal missed his maiden century of the championship as he was bowled for 99 off 81 deliveries. His inning was well supported by Himanshu Chawla, who scored 44 off 40 balls, and Bipul Sharma, who posted 46 runs off 38 deliveries.

For the bowling side, Satish remained the pick of the team with figures 4 for 38 while Abhinav Bali and Kuldeep claimed two wickets each for 48 and 49 runs, respectively.

In reply, AG Delhi played well but failed to achieve the target. The team was bundled out for 246 for 7 wickets in 38 overs with Ankur (62 off 63) and Pankaj Joshi (56 off 51) being the main-scorers. Abhinav Bali added 25 off 42.

For the bowling side, Gurinder (3 for 40) led the chart while Michael Vishal bagged two wickets for 42 runs.

In the second match played at Government Model Senior Secondary School, Sector 36, AG Punjab defeated AG Uttar Pradesh by 9 wickets.

AG Uttar Pradesh won the toss and elected to bat first. However, the team failed to put up a big total and folded their innings at 82 runs in 26.5 overs. Shakti (18 off 31), Aditya Singh (15 off 33) and Satish Durai (14 off 26) were the run-getters for the side.

For the bowling side, Kuwar Raina and Rajiv claimed three wickets each for 13 and 8 runs, respectively. Bharat Lumba took two wickets for 12 runs.

In reply, AG Punjab reached the target in 6.1 overs. The team made 84 runs at the loss of one wicket with Kunwar Raina (38 off 20) and Amit Prashar (38 off 12) scoring quick-fire knocks. Abhishek claimed the lone wicket for AG Uttar Pradesh while conceding 20 runs.
