Chandigarh, November 6
Arnav and Arshita won the sub-junior boys’ and girls’ titles, respectively, on the concluding day of the 29th cadet and sub-junior State Table Tennis Championship held at the Sector 23 table tennis hall here today.
In the boys’ sub-junior final, Arnav of Gurukul Global School, Manimajra, defeated Pawan of DAV Public School, Sector 8, 11-6 11-8 12-10 11-9. In the semifinals, Pawan had defeated Vansh 11-8 11-5 11-6 while Arnav beat Sachit of DAV Public School, Sector 8, 11-8 11-6 11-9.
In the girls’ sub-junior category, Arshita of DAV Public School beat Devanshee of St. Kabir School, Sector 26, 11-5 5-11 11-9 11-6 11-9 to win the title. She had defeated Vasundhara from Sacred Heart School, Sector 26, 11-8 11-6 11-7, while Deevanshi beat Chinmayee of Sacred Heart School 11-6 11-2 9-11 11-8 in the semifinals.
In the boys’ sub-junior doubles event, DAV Public School’s Pawan and Sachit won the title after defeating Arnav and Jashan of Gurukul Global School 11-7 11-8 13-11. Vasundhara and Chinmayee of Sacred Heart School won the girls’ sub-junior doubles event after a 11-9 11-5 11-3 win over Pelf and Harnoor of Learning Path School, Mohali.
