Dehradun, March 30
Badminton players from Uttarakhand shone at the national-level championship by capturing top rankings in different age categories. Seven shuttlers-- Lakshya Sen, Unnati Bisht, Chirag Sen, Chaynit Joshi, Akshita Bhandari, Sneha Rajwar and Kuhu Garg-- are among the top-ranking players of India.
As per the Badminton Association of India note, the following were the latest rankings of the players: Lakshya Sen (U-17 singles), II; Unnati Bisht (U-15 singles) II; Chaynit Joshi (U-15 doubles) 1; Chirag Sen(U-19 singles) II; and Kuhu Garg (U-19) III; mix-doubles. Sneha Rajwar and Akshita Bhandari got the IInd and IVth rank, respectively, in the girls' double category.
Kuhu Garg had also qualified in the main draw for the India Open Super Series. The Sports Department is also excited with the new rankings and is expecting medals from the badminton players. The state is hosting the 2018 National Games.
