Baptist, St. Anne’s win

Chandigarh, February 18

Chandigarh Baptist School, Sector 45, defeated Ryan International, Sector 45, by three wickets in a thrilling match in the ongoing School Sports Promotion Foundation Cricket Tournament (Under-15) at the Government Model Senior Secondary School, Sector 19. 

Batting first, Ryan International posted 151 for the loss of six wickets in 25 overs. Yuvraj hit 58 runs. Sidharth scored 23 runs. Pulkit hit 18 runs. 

In reply, Baptist’s Ritik Shukla scored 66 runs to help his team win the match in 24 overs. For Ryan boys, Parth returned with the figures of 2/37. Nimad took two wickets (2/21).

In the second match of the day, fine batting performances by Aalam and Dhanraj helped St. Anne’s School, Sector 32, beat St. Joseph’s School, Sector 44, by six wickets. Batting first, St. Joseph’s school could manage only 132/9 in 25 overs. Karan Sood scored 37 runs. Divyansh hit 31 runs. For St. Anne’s boys, Gurmeet was the highest wicket-taker (3/22).

In reply, St. Anne’s reached home in 22.3 overs. Aalam was the top-scorer for the winning side with 46 runs. Dhanraj also made an important contribution of 42 runs to help his team win by six wickets. 

For St. Joseph’s School, Rasoldier returned with the figures of 2/24.
