Bhawesh moves to next round

Bhawesh Pandey defeated Dishant Sukhwal in the boys’ U-17 fourth round match of the 25th Smt. Krishna Khaitan All India Junior Ranking Badminton Tournament at the Panjab University indoor hall. 

Pandey lost the opening 13-15 but managed to bounce back 15-6 15-4 in the next two games to win the match. Tarun Reddy K also won his match against Shreyansh Jain in a similar manner. After starting also came from behind after trailing 14-16 in the first game. Reddy finally registered 15-5 15-10 victory. 

In the other matches of the day, Eshaan Duggal beat Keerthi Sasank Ayyagari Phani 15-13 15-11, Tushar Bhandari defeated Samarth Sharma 15-11 15-7, Saswat Satapathy beat Arunesh H 15-9 15-7, Rohan Thool defeated Gautam Arora 15-8 15-8 and Bhargav S defeated Aditya Swami 15-3 15-9.

Riya Sachan defeated Megha Pothamsetty in the girls’ U-17 category. Sachan won the opening game 15-12 but went down in the next game 14-16. In the final game, she posted a 15-10 win. Nikita Sharma defeated Drithi Yatheesh 7-15 15-11 16-14 while Keerthana P. Shroff beat Aruni Chauhan 16-14 9-15 15-9. Ramya CV had an easy win over Shilpi Pusadkar 15-11 15-9, Medha Shashidharan defeated Sakshi Gahlawat 15-12 15-6 while Adya Parashar overpowered Shavi Bhatnagar 15-7 15-12.

In the girls’ U-17 doubles, Deethya and Megha Pothamsetty defeated Niki Rapria and Nishu Rapria 15-4 15-3 while Asmi Ohlyan and Isha Singh beat Shehjar Chowdhury and Anusha Goel 20-18 16-14. In the boys’ category, the pair of Edwin Joy and Aravind V Suresh beat Pranshul Kadian and Naveen Kumar 15-10 15-13 while Anushrav Garg and Devesh Mittal defeated Pruthvi Raja and Bhargav S 13-15 15-10 15-13. Yash Raikwar defeated Mayank Taya 15-9 15-7 in the boys’ U-19 third round match. 

Lauhit P lost the opening set 14-6 but won the next two games 15-8 15-7 to register victory over Tarun Gakhad. Samarjit Panday also registered a 7-15 15-8 15-7 victory over Harjeev Singh. In the girls’ U-19 category, Uthsava Palit defeated Anamika Kashyap 15-12 15-8, Smit Toshniwal beat Nikita Sharma 15-7 15-10 and Malvika Bansod defeated Ketki Navgire 15-6 15-7.

  In the mixed doubles U-19 second round matches, the pair of Saundarya Pandey and Anusha Goel defeated Anmol Chhabra and Kanika Sharma 15-8 15-9, Bhavadheer Vivek Ankam and Uthsava Palit beat Abhishek Kapila and Simran Kaur 15-6 15-8. Adithya Bapineedu G and Dapasha Joshi beat Mohit Rumar and Adya Bhargava 15-11 15-8 .
