City team steer into football final

Chandigarh, December 17
Chandigarh’s sub junior soccer team steered into the finals of the North Zone Sub Junior Football Championship being held at Sunder Nagar today.
The championship is being conducted under aegis of the All-India Football Federation. In the final league match, Chandigarh defeated Jammu & Kashmir 2 -0. The team scored the lead through Vdeyveer Singh in the 13th minute of the match. He scored the lead through a solo effort, enough to defeat Jammu and Kashmir’s custodian. The joy was doubled in the 37th minute when striker Dalbir struck with a power pack half-volley shot to confirm the win.
In the final of the championship on Friday, the team will face Haryana.
