Cook suspended for one ODI, fined

Hambantota: England captain Alastair Cook has been suspended for one ODI and fined 20 per cent of his match fee, while players have been fined 10 per cent of their match fees, for maintaining a slow over-rate during England’s five-wicket victory against Sri Lanka in the third ODI.

Lacklustre India to play  for 9-16 position

Niagara-on-the-Lake: Lacklustre India failed to match the showing of the previous edition by finishing fourth in their pool in the WSF Women's World Team Squash Championship. Indian women, led by Joshana Chinappa in the absence of top player Dipika Pallikal, posted their first win of the competition against Austria 3-0 before going down to South Africa 1-2 in Pool D yesterday. The team now plays hosts Canada in 9-16 classification matches. .

Adhiban holds Xiangzhi; Kramnik shoots into lead 

Doha: Grandmaster B. Adhiban held higher-ranked Bu Xiangzhi to a draw while Vladimir Kramnik of Russia put it across Salem Saleh of UAE to emerge as the sole leader in the Qatar Masters international Open Chess tournament.
