Delhi School lift basketball trophy

Modern School, Delhi, won the Win-Mumby All India Inter-School Basketball Competition in both girls and boys categories. The competition was held at Win-Mumby Gymnasium of Woodstock School on Friday evening.

In the final of the boys’ category, Modern School defeated the host school 65-33 and lifted the coveted trophy.

Earlier, Modern School had defeated Asian Public School, Dehradun, in the first semifinal while Woodstock School had defeated Welham School in the second semifinal.

In the final match of the girls’ category, Modern School defeated Welham Girls School, Dehradun, 52-24. Earlier, in the semifinal matches, the Welham Girls team defeated Wynberg Allen School and Modern School defeated Strawberry High School, Chandigarh, to reach the final.

Bollywood actor Tom Alter was the chief guest on the occasion and gave away prizes and citations to the winners. Principal, Woodstock School, Dr Jonathon Long, physical instructor Ajay Mark and others were present on the occasion.
