Doon boys, Nainital girls win state football tournament

Dehradun, December 12
Dehradun boys and Nainital girls teams won the state-level under-16 football tournament organised by the Rajiv Gandhi Khel Yojna at the Pavilion Ground here today. In the finals of the tournament, Dehradun beat Udham Singh Nagar 2-0 and Nainital beat Pauri 2-0.
Earlier, in the match between Dehradun and Udham Singh Nagar, both the teams were locked goalless till the final whistle. The match result was decided by the penalty shootout, in which Dehradun boys beat Udham Singh Nagar 2-0. In the finals in the girls section, Nainital beat Pauri 2-0.
DP Thapa, Madan Negi, Pushkar, Shailendra Singh, Bhupendra Singh, BS Rawat, Mukesh Bhatt and Kishan Dobhal were referees in the matches.
City Young beat Wills Eleven 1-0
City Young beat Wills Eleven 1-0 in the ongoing 71st Lala Nemi Das Memorial District Football League match being played at the Pavilion Ground here on Friday.
Earlier in the match, both teams remain unscored till the first half. Digmay of City Young converted a rebound into a goal for his team in the 63rd minute of the second half. Wills Eleven remained goalless till the final whistle.
Dharam Singh, Madan Negi and Pushkar were the match referees while Gurucharan Singh, LP Sundriyal, DS Bisht, HS Kohli and HC Bajaj witnessed the match.
