Doon International beat Asian School in basketball

Doon International School defeated The Asian School by 23 points in the ongoing 4th Asian Challenge Cup All India Basketball Tournament played at The Asian School here today. It was Shrishab who turned the game for Doon International School by scoring 15 points and help his team to get one sided 35-12 victory.
On second day of the tournament seven matches were played in which Woodstock School defeated Doon International School in a close match by 36-34. In next two matches YPS Patiala beat Doon School by 55-36 and Kasiga School by 49-30. While, Asian School defeated Kasiga School and Wynberg Allen School by 41-12 and 48-38 respectively. In the last match of the day Wynberg Allen School defeated Woodstock School by 34-19.
Earlier, host The Asian School won its two league matches on the opening day of the 4th Asian Challenge Cup All-India Basketball Tournament here yesterday.
The results of the league matches are: The Asian School beat Woodstock School, Mussoorie, (39-33); Doon International School beat Wynberg Allen School, Mussoorie, (37-16); The Asian School beat YPS Patiala (57-34); and The Doon School beat Kasiga School (35-21).
Doon International School (DIS), The Doon School (DS), Woodstock School, Mussoorie, Wynberg Allen School, Mussoorie, (WBA), Kasiga School (KS), Yadavindra Public School, Patiala, The Asian School and The Asian School are the eight temas participating the competition this year.
Earlier, vice-principal of The Asian School Anant VD Thapliyal inaugurated the tournament. The teams were introduced to the chief guest who wished them good luck. Thapliyal also welcomed the official referees. The Asian Challenge Cup All-India Basketball Tournament was conceived by The Asian School in 2012. It is played on the league-cum-knock out basis.
Asian School thrash MAMS team by 131 runs
The Asian School thrashed the Maa Anandmayi Memorial School (MAMS) team by 131 runs in the opening match of the Colonel Shashi Memorial Cricket Tournament played at Cambrian Hall School on Sunday.
The Asian School team elected to bat first after winning the toss and set a target of 224 runs with the help of a brilliant opening partnership between Arya Sethi and Gaurav, who scored 82 runs and 92 runs respectively. In reply, the MAMS team played under pressure and the entire team was bowled out for 93 runs.
Earlier, Sub Area Commander Maj Gen S Sabarwal inaugurated the tournament by lighting a lamp.
