Utkarsh Bharadwaj of Uttarakhand defeated Sahaj Somani during a match of the All-India Ranking Men’s Tennis Tournament being played at ONGC Club here today.
In the opening match of main draw round, Utkarsh defeated Sahaj Somani in direct sets 6-1, 6-1. In another matches, Arnav Alok defeated Saurab Kumar 6-4, 6-0. Pradeep Pant beat Krishna Rajput 6-0, 6-1. Mayuk Rawat beat Kabir Manraj by 4-6, 6-3 and 6-0. Anshuman Gulia beat Dhruv Pal by 7-5, 0-6 and 7-6.
Chinmay Dev beat Raquib Manazir 7-5, 4-6 and 6-0. Harsh Vardhan beat Quadri Fayaz 6-1, 6-1; while Chirag Dahiya beat Ayush 2-6, 6-4 and 6-2.
The tournament is organised by the All-India Tennis Association, in which around 80 players of 10 states are participating. A cash reward of Rs 50,000 will be given to the winning team.
Jhajra beat Delhi by eight wickets
Jhajra Five Star Club (JFS) defeated Delhi Eleven by 8 wickets in a match during the 2nd BB Aggrawal Memorial Cricket Tournament held at Doon Global School here today.
Delhi Eleven decided to bat first after winning the toss. However, the entire team was all out for 79 runs. In reply, JFS comfortably achieved the target in 14.1 over at the loss of two wickets. Priyanshu contributed highest 46 runs to the JFS score.
In another match of the tournament, Butt Academy defeated RC Club by eight wickets. Batting first, RC Club set the target of 119 runs, which was achieved by the Batt Academy in 13.3 overs at the losing two wickets. Ankur scored highest 57 runs for Butt Academy.
