GMSSS-23 start with victory

Chandigarh, February 19

Government Model Senior Secondary School, Sector 23, registered win (19-15) over Government Model Senior Secondary School, Sector 16, in the opening match of the 30th State Handball championship for boys and girls.

 For the winning team, Krishna netted six goals while Rakesh, Suraj and Mukesh contributed three goals each. For the losing side, Deepak contributed five goals. Karan scored four goals while Pankaj and Rohit added three goals each. 

In the second match, DAV Senior Secondary School, Sector 8, defeated DAV Coaching Centre 19-17. Mitual starred in the team’s win with seven goals while Vaibhav Tyagi (five goals) and Khagemba (three goals) were the other scorers. 

For the losing side, Rohit added five goals while Uvesh and Rizwan contributed four goals each.

 In the girls’ category, Government Model Senior Secondary School, Sector 8, defeated Sacred Heart School, Sector 26, 7-4.

Two more matches will be played tomorrow.
