GMSSS-26 eves, GMSSS-27 boys lift titles

Spikers of Government Model Senior Secondary School (GMSSS), Sector 26 (timber market), and Government Model Senior Secondary School, Sector 27, bagged the titles of the Inter-School Volleyball Championship for (U-14) Girls and Boys, respectively, here today.
In the final of the (U-14) girls’ event, hosts Government Model Senior Secondary School, Sector 26, defeated Government Model Senior Secondary School, Sector 27, 25-06, 25-08 and 25-20. For the winning side, Archana, Babita, Aarti and Anju collected most of thepoints. Meanwhile, in a hard line match of the same category, Government Model Senior Secondary School, Dhanas, outclassed Government Model Senior Secondary School, Sector 19, by 25-20, 25-09 and 25-18.
In the title clash of (U-14) boys’ event, Government Model Senior Secondary School, Sector 27, defeated Manav Mangal High School, Sector 21, 25-17, 25-12 and 25-13 to pocket the title. Dharminder, Robin, Bablu and Vishal played an important role in scripting their team’s win. Meanwhile, DAV Senior Secondary School, Sector 8, posted 25-13, 25-10 and 25-9 win over Government Model Senior Secondary School, Sector 19, to attain the third place in the championship.
Chess competition
In the Inter-School Chess Championship for (U-17) Boys, Ryan International School defeated MDAV Senior Secondary School, Sector 22.
