Himani Sood, a tae kwon do player from GGDSD College, Sector 32, won a gold medal in the Inter-College Tae Kwon Do Championship for Women (A- division) today. She won the gold in the under-46 kg category. She is presently preparing for the All-India Inter-University Tae Kwon Do Championship to be held in Annamalai University in the month of March. Earlier, she had also bagged a place in the probables list of World University Tae Kwon Do Championship in 2014. She was selected on the basis of her performance in the 2014 All-India Championship at Sathyabama University, Chennai, where she won a bronze medal. The 3 Dan black belt martial artist has also won a gold medal in the 2014 Inter-College Championship and at the School National Games. She started practicing tae kwon do in 2007. —TNS
