Himanshu, Ram maintain lead with 7 points

Chandigarh, January 5

Railways’ Himanshu Sharma and Ram S Krishnan of Tamil Nadu maintained their lead with seven points at the end of the 7th round in the open category during the First Chitkara International School FIDE Rating Chess Championship at Chitkara International School, Sector 25, today.

In the today’s game, Himanshu Sharma defeated Dushyant Sharma of Punjab and Ram S Krishnan played a draw against Chandigarh’s Himal Gusain. The leaders are closely followed by Himal Gusain and Harshal Shahi of Delhi, who ended their day at 5½ points each.

In the below 1,600 category, Ankit Saxena of Uttar Pradesh and Satyam Prakash of Delhi locked the lead with securing 6½ points each. They are closely followed by Sankalp Arora, Gaurav Sharma, Aryan, Tanmay Jain, Bhat Siddharth and Priyadarshi Alok, who ended their round with six points each.
