IMS Unison University sports festival begins

A three-day Sports Fest Sportathlon-2016 being organized by IMS Unison University was inaugurated by Ashok Kumar, ADG (Vigilance) Uttarakhand Police at the Maharana Pratap Sports College, Raipur today.

The event started with a march past by the participating student. Balloons carrying a banner of the fest were released by the chief guest and the games were declared open. Ashok Kumar complimented the organizers of the fest and said it was an occasion of collective joy and individual pleasure. He also advised the students to be career oriented in their approach to education. Chancellor Dr MP Jain presented a memento to Ashok Kumar. The programme concluded with a vote of thanks delivered by Dean Student Welfare, Dr Reena Singh.

Students from management, law, mass communication and computer science departments participated in the cricket, badminton, table tennis, kabbadi, carrom, football, tug of war, basketball, athletic and chess competitions.

The fest will conclude with a valedictory function and prize distribution on Saturday. The university is also celebrating its Foundation Day on March 12. Chancellor MP Jain will also facilitate meritorious students on the occasion.
