Ish Gupta, Kavita Talwar and Raghubir Singh Walia have emerged winners in their respective categories on the concluding day of the Mohali District Chess Championship at The British School, Sector 70. 

Ish (3.5 points) outclassed Gagandeep Singh (3 points) in four rounds to bag the boys U-19 title on Sunday, while Kavita Talwar (2 points) beat Vanshika Arora (2 points) in a tie break to win the title in the girls U-19 segment.

In the U-15 event, Pratham (5 points) defeated Manit Singh (4 points) to retain the title in the boys' section. Seerat Kaur Chawla (4.5 points), meanwhile, beat Neha Kalra (4 points) at the end of the fourth and final round. 

In the U-9 category, Raghubir (4 points) beat Naren Gupta (4 points) in a tie breaker while Dhunika Jalota (4 points) finished at the top in the girls' event. In the open U-25 category, Vibhushit Singh (2 points) claimed the title.  — TNS
