Chandigarh, June 6
A fine century by Chandigarh’s Jasnoor ( 103 off 192 balls) enabled the city team to post 358 runs against Zone B during a match in the ongoing Inter-District (U-19) Championship for Dhruv Pandove Trophy at Government College, Ropar, today.
Raman Bishnoi supported the centurion and contributed 73 while Pardeep Yadav chipped in with 50 off 32 balls.
For Zone B, Vaibhav Arora and Paras Bhatia claimed three wickets each after conceding 95 and 33 runs, respectively. Navpreet Singh took 2 for 82. In reply, Zone B scored 127 for 7 in 60 overs at end of the second day’s play with Paras Bhatia remaining unbeaten on 44 off 60 balls.
For Chandigarh, Raman Bishnoi (4 for 24), Niput Pandita (2 for 20) and Ishan Mavi ( 1 for 13) were the main wicket takers.
Mohali take first innings lead
In the second match, while chasing Mohali’s modest total of 195 in the first innings, Jalandhar were bowled out for 144 in 53.5 overs with Ramandeep scoring 43 off 38 balls while Nikhil Kohli (4 for 55) and Akash Dahri (3 for 10) being the principal wicket takers for Mohali. Leading by 51 runs in the first innings, Mohali, in their second innings, posted 176 in 43.2 overs. Their innings was studded by a quick century by Ramandeep (107 off 89 balls). The side set a target of 228 runs for Jalandhar. Jalandhar at end of the second day’s play scored 81 for 4 in 23 overs.
Zone A tighten grip on match
In the third match at Dhruv Pandove Stadium, Patiala, Zone A consolidated its position. Zone A scored 238 in 102.4 overs with Gaurav Kamboj (82) and Bhanupartap Singh (35) lifting the team’s total. For Patiala, Tejpreet Singh hogged the limelight after claiming 8 for 59. In reply, Patiala posted 153 for 7 in 41 overs. Ibadat Thaman (54) and Ikjot Singh Thind (40) were the principal run-getters for Patiala.
