Jyotsna, Rishi make it to talent series semifinals

Jyotsna Yadav overpowered Adita Vashisht in a well-settled quarterfinal game of Girls (U-12) category of the ongoing CLTA-AITA Talent Series (TS-3) and Talent Series (TS-7) Tennis Tournament at the CLTA Complex in Sector 10 here today.

The match lasted for over an hour. Putting her best show forward, Jyotsna claimed the opening set 4-2. However, she faced some resistance, in the next set, when Adita Vashisht locked the lead 3-5. In the tie-breaker, Jyotsna maintained her good show and posted a 7-1 win over her rival.

In other quarterfinal matches, Maitry Chahal blanked Mrinalini Sharma to move to the semifinal of the championship. She posted a straight 4-0 and 4-0 win over the opponent. Inayat Sandhu also defeated Pawandeep Kaur at ease by 4-0, 4-0 while Jannat Kaur Anand overpowered Sukriti Kaur Bedi 5-3 and 4-1 to reach the semifinals.

In the Boys (U-12) category, top seeded Rishi Jalota continued his winning spree and blanked Gaurav Kumar 4-0 and 4-0 while second seed Sidharth Goel conceded only one game before completing his victory run over Jaskaran Chahal 4-0 and 4-1. In other quarterfinal matches, Kumar Mahismat posted win against Sukhpreet Singh Jhoje 4-2 and 4-1 and Dhairya Chadha cornered Jitin Chetry. The last match between Dhairya Chadha and Jitin Chetry ended in a three-setter tie. Dhairya after losing the first game 0-4 posted win at 4-2(7-5) to win the match.

In the Boys (U-16) category, Sohraab Singh, Karan Bhalla, Laksh Vohra, Shrut Mohan Nargeta, Navneet Sehgal, Shrenik Bhalla, Yuvraj Kokka and Parveen Kumar qualified for the main draw matches after registering win in their respective matches today.

The main draw matches of Boys and Girls (U-16) category will be held tomorrow along with final and semifinals of (U-12) category.
