Ludhiana, June 5
Samar Sinha, an upcoming karate player from Ludhiana, was accorded a warm reception on his return from China today.
He had gone to China for an advanced training to learn the finer points of the game.
During his three-month training programme at the world famous karate training centre, Montreal Arts Academy in Sea Ping City in China, Samar attended coaching under the guidance of renowned coaches.
Samar was honoured at a function organised at a local hotel, where MLA Ranjit Singh Dhillon was the chief guest.
A number of karate players of international fame including Chinmay Dubey, Ranjeev Kumar Nagpal, Mohd Aftab and Mohd Manudin Khan along with Kashmir Singh Thind and Neetu Sharma, director and Principal, respectively of GMT International Public School and parents of Samar were among others present.
Samar, a student of Class VIII at GMT International Public School, Kakowal Road, Ludhiana, has already established himself in the field of martial arts as he won more than a dozen medals in the national as well as international karate events in the past couple of years.
The chief guest appreciated Samar’s outstanding achievements and congratulated his parents and coach. He expressed hope that Samar’s training in China would certainly help him in improving his game further and he would bring fame to the state and the nation in future.
Samar said he would be visiting Romania, Japan, Germany and Denmark in the near future to get himself abreast with the latest techniques of the game.
