Guru Nanak Khalsa Senior Secondary School, Sector 30, defeated Team B (Coaching Centre DAV-8), 20-8 on the opening day of the 29th Junior Chandigarh State Handball Championship at the Sports Complex, Sector 42.
For Khalsa boys, Mithun was the highest goalscorer with six goals. Gaurav (4), Akash (4), Ajay (2) and Rahul (2) also scored goals in the winning cause.
Coaching Centre Government Model Senior Secondary School, Sector 19, defeated Team B (Coaching Centre-42) 16-5 in the 36th Senior Women Handball Championship.
In the second match, Team A (Handball Coaching Centre-42) drubbed Government Model Senior Secondary School, Sector 8, 11-6.
