Krishan upsets 3rd seed Vishal

Chandigarh Academy for Rural Tennis (CHART) trainee Krishan Hooda upset third seed Vishal Pagadala in boys (u-12) during the ongoing Shivalik Public School CLTA-AITA Super Series Tennis Tournament at the CLTA Complex, Sector 10, today.

In a long-rallied match, Krishan sailed into the next round after winning the starting the match on a good note. He named the first se 6-4 while trailed down in the second 4-6. In the last set, he blanked his opponent 6-0 to win the game.

In other match of the same category, seventh seed Nishant Dabas sailed into the quarters with a one sided 6-0 and 6-2 win over Kartik Saxena while fifth seed Shrut Mohan Nargeta overpowered Pranav Chopra 6-2 and 7-6(3).

In the boys’ (U-16) category, second seed Sumit Pal Singh moved into the quarters by conceding only one game against Sohrab Singh 6-0 and 6-1. Sagar Sehrawat also played well and registered a convincing three-setter against CHART trainee Shashikant Rajput. Shashikant took first set 6-2 while Sagar took second set 6-3.

In the last set, Sagar was trailing down 1-4. He, however, gathered good variations to win the next five games and won the set 6-4.
