KV, IMA, beat Army School 2-0

Kendriya Vidyalaya, IMA, and Kendriya Vidyalaya, Birpur, made it to the final of the ongoing 7th ONGC Ram Bahadur Chhetri Memorial Football Tournament by winning their respective semifinal matches played at Dr BR Ambedkar Stadium here today.

In the first semifinal match, Kendriya Vidyalaya, IMA, defeated Army School, Clement Town, 2-0. Saurabh Rawat and Nishantthapa scored the goals for KV, IMA, in the 6th and 66th minutes of the game, respectively.

In the second semifinal match, Kendriya Vidyalaya, Birpur, defeated Army Public School, Birpur, 6-4 in a tie-breaker. Earlier, both teams were equal with a goal each in the stipulated time.

Sunder Lal Manderwal and Hira Singh Bisht, both MLAs, were the chief guests on the occasion.

The final match will be played tomorrow.
